Abstract: This paper presents the IICT Model (Integration of Information and Communication Technologies) and the features which comprise it, reflecting on the appropriateness of using it in the educational context as a mean of promoting learning situations, essentially, using the tools of Web 2.0. Assuming that the success of online learning is the balanced association between old but relevant concepts of learning, it describes the theoretical basis that involves - Constructivism, Engagement Theory and ARCS model - and it explains how information, communication and collaborative tools can be applied in the classroom in any subject of the curriculum.
